David A. Carman is a summa cum laude graduate of the Syracuse University College of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1990. At Syracuse University College of Law, Mr. Carman was a member of the law review, as well as the winner of the school’s mock appellate argument competition. Prior to law school, Mr. Carman graduated summa cum laude from Kenyon College, where he earned his B.A. degree.
Mr. Carman has over 29 years of experience, primarily as a civil litigator. He has first chair jury trial experience in both state and federal court, as well as experience in arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Carman has litigated cases involving, among other issues, breach of contract, fraud, unfair competition, insurance bad faith, sexual harassment, defamation, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, antitrust violations, wage and hour violations, disability discrimination, and elder abuse.
In addition to being admitted to practice in all California state courts, Mr. Carman is also admitted to practice before: the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of California; the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas; the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Carman has also been admitted, pro hac vice, in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and in state court in Texas.
